How it works
Two ways to wear your prescription.
Every frame above can be set up with your prescription by your own eye doctor or optician. Here's how.
Shield + RxClip
Our Rx-Ready shields ship with an RxClip, a prescription insert that sits behind the shield lens.
- 1Take the RxClip to your eye doctor or optician.
- 2They cut your prescription lenses to fit it.
- 3Clip it in behind the shield and hit the trail.
Full-lens frames
Our Rx-Ready Lifestyle frames use two separate lenses, so an optician can swap them for prescription lenses.
- 1Bring the frame to your optician.
- 2They fit prescription lenses in place of the sun lenses, clear or tinted.
- 3Same frame, now with your prescription.
Trailvision does not make prescription lenses. Whether your prescription can be fitted depends on your prescription and the frame, so confirm with your eye doctor or optician first. Titan is tested to ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 with its original lenses; prescription lenses fitted by a third party are not covered by that rating. Questions? info@trailvisionoptics.com
Questions
Rx-Ready FAQ.
Does Trailvision make prescription lenses?
Not right now. We make frames that are ready for your prescription, and your own eye doctor or optician makes and fits the lenses.
What's an RxClip?
A prescription insert that clips in behind the shield lens. Your eye doctor or optician cuts your prescription lenses to fit it, so you keep the full shield coverage and still see sharp.
What should I bring to my optician?
Your current prescription and the RxClip (for shields) or the frame itself (for Lifestyle frames). Pricing and turnaround for the lenses are set by your optician.
Can every prescription be fitted?
Most can, but very strong prescriptions or special lens types may not fit every frame. Your eye doctor or optician can tell you before they start.
